23rd CIMAC World Congress Celebrating 50 Years of CIMAC

The Congress in 2001 celebrates 50 years of CIMAC.

CIMAC was founded in Paris in 1951 where the first Congress took place. Originally CIMAC was organized as an industry event to discuss new ideas and developments within the engine and components industry together with institutes and universities. This massive amount of professional up-to-date knowledge is still available among the CIMAC members and is presented during the Congresses. A very decisive change, however, has taken place over the years - the clients of the engine industry have become interested in participating in the CIMAC Congresses!

Now being 50 years old CIMAC 2001 places an even greater importance on the user attendance by attracting more papers from operators and designers of ships, power plants and locomotives. Be with us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of CIMAC!

CIMAC and the Collin Trust

The Collin Trust was set up in the UK by Prof. Lars Th. Collin to advance the education of the public concerning fuels and the use of energy converters and to promote and encourage research into fuels and their effects on the environment. The emphasis is on power generation, marine and locomotive applications. One object is to appoint a senior industrialist or person who has an international reputation to give a lecture, usually, but not necessarily, at the CIMAC Congress.

Since 1995 a Collin Trust Lecture has been held at each CIMAC Congress. More details are available on the webpage of The Collin Trust
