On October 15, 2025, the 15th CIMAC Cascades took place at the Grand Josun Busan Ballroom in the Republic of Korea, under the theme “Decarbonization and Digitalization: Moving Toward a Green Future.” The event brought together 85 participants from industry, academia, and government to explore cutting-edge developments in engine technology and sustainability.

The program featured 12 technical presentations and one special session, all aligned with CIMAC’s strategic direction. Two presentations stood out for their relevance and impact:

  • An experimental evaluation and multi-objective optimization of hydrogen engine pre-ignition, awarded Best Presentation to Ms. BAO Lingzhi from the Beijing Institute of Technology.
  • A presentation on digitalization in engine manufacturing, focusing on emission compliance and process optimization.

Despite being scheduled shortly after Korea’s Chuseok holidays and just before the KOMARINE exhibition, the event successfully attracted a diverse audience. 22 NMA members from Japan, China, and Singapore participated, alongside officials from Busan Metropolitan City Industrial Policy Division, Korea Petroleum Quality & Distribution Authority (K-Petro)and Busan Regional Industry Promotion Agency.

The event was part of a three-day program including a welcome reception (Oct 14), the seminar (Oct 15), and the Far East NMA Meeting (Oct 16). During the meeting, it was agreed that the next CIMAC Cascades in the Far East region will be held in Okayama, Japan.

The 15th CIMAC Cascades in Busan served as a successful platform for technical exchange and regional cooperation. It showcased the industry's commitment to a sustainable future through decarbonization and digital transformation, reinforcing the importance of continued collaboration across borders.
