CIMAC and its Chinese National Member Association (CSICE, Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engine) are pleased to report on a successful CIMAC CASCADES event held in Wuxi, China on October 10-11,2019. The 11th CIMAC CASCADES was attended by 127 participants from Austria, China, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands etc. comprising mostly of young engineers, providing them with an excellent opportunity to meet some of the leading industry experts to discuss and exchange ideas and information regarding research and development work in relevant fields.
The CASCADES event was graced by distinguished delegates, namely Prof. Feng Huihua (deputy Secretary General of CSICE, Beijing University of technology), Mr. Yasuyuki Takahata (Vice President, Global Integration, CIMAC), Prof. Yao Mingfa (Tianjin University) and Prof. Guo Liang (Jilin University) and Dr. Elias Boletis, Director of Engineering, Marine Solutions, Wärtsilä.
The CASCADES event Technical Program contained 11 presentations by young engineers. CIMAC Council member Mr. Li Shusheng, Secretary General of CSICE, warmly welcomed the audience with a welcome address followed by Keynote presentations from Dr. Dehui Tong, from Weichai Power Co.,Ltd. and Dr. Elias Boletis from Wärtsilä Netherlands. The event also gave the young engineers a chance to meet leading industry experts, facilitate discussions and exchange ideas on “Low carbon, high efficiency, system, integration” and related work in their respective fields. In conclusion, Mr. Yasuyuki Takahata, Vice President, Global Integration, CIMAC, made a closing speech on behalf of CIMAC. He highly praised the organization of the conference, the quality of the papers, the engagement of the participants and other aspects, calling it a “landmark conference”.
Along with the Technical Program, the social events of the CASCADES event were also very well received, particularly the technical tours of Kailong High Tech Co., Ltd. and FAW Jiefang engine business department, as well as the Wuxi ancient canal sightseeing tour. The ancient canals and Bodu river, with over two thousand years of history and " Small bridges, flowing water and households " fully showcased the characteristics of Jiangnan Water City to the guests, with its deep ancient lanes, rich historic relics and a vast cultural landscape and heritage. Furthermore, both the Welcome and Dinner Receptions at the World Hotel Grand Juna Wuxi were noteworthy, with an excellent opportunity for the delegates to network.
The CIMAC CASCADES Award was won by Mr. Jaehee Kim from Hyundai Heavy Industries, South Korea for the presentation titled “Introduction of HiMSEN DF engine control system and loT solutions”.
CIMAC CASCADES China 2019 was organized by CSICE in cooperation with Kailong High Tech Co., Ltd.
